Prototyping an idea in a circular fashion context.
The Neukölln-based fashion start-up Design for Circularity developed an idea on how to bring technology into the circular fashion industry. Working closely with DfC Founder Ina Budde, we created a first interactive prototype for this idea.
My role in this project was to formalize the idea, develop the information architecture for the webapp and to build a first prototype. This prototype is still available at http://circular.fashion. It is a Laravel 5 application, written in object-oriented PHP.
A key concept behind the idea is to make clothing trackable during it's whole lifecycle. For this I had to create a system that generates unique and universally trackable codes, that can be incorporated into the garment and eventually scanned. This system is written in Python and generates monochrome QR Codes that can be printed and transferred onto the clothing.
